PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles has received a clean audit for the 18th consecutive year, OMC officials said.
The state Auditor’s Office recently conducted its regular independent accountability audit of the hospital, covering the period of Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017.
“It is not an easy task to accomplish a clean audit, but thanks to the significant focus on financial stewardship and the hard work of all of our employees to follow policies and procedures, we have been able to do so,” said Darryl Wolfe, chief financial officer at OMC.

The state auditor examines areas representing the highest risk of fraud, loss, abuse or noncompliance, and in this audit focused on financial condition and fiscal sustainability, cash receipting, accounts receivable (patient billings and adjustments), tracking and monitoring of theft sensitive assets, including pharmaceutical inventory, and use and tracking of restricted funds (donations).
