PORT ANGELES — Five Olympic Medical Center departments have received a total of $25,000 for equipment from the OMC Auxiliary.
The auxiliary also presented three local students each with a $1,500 scholarship.
“I am very appreciative of the auxiliary’s support of the medical center and their efforts to help us purchase needed medical equipment,” said Eric Lewis, OMC chief executive officer.
“Our auxiliary members and volunteer group are tremendously valuable assets for our organization, and we are thankful for their efforts and donations.”
Bill Whitten, president of the OMC Auxiliary, presented the following “Wish List” awards:
■ Obstetrics: A portable vital-sign monitor with a value of $3,306.
■ Safety / Security: Fire training package with a value of $11,940.
■ Critical Care Unit: Blood and fluid warmer with a value of $1,164.
■ Olympic Medical Home Health: Lifeline personal help button replacements with a value of $5,000.
■ Emergency Department: Portable vital-sign monitor with a value of $3,306.
Julie Sell, chairwoman of the auxiliary scholarship committee, presented $1,500 scholarships to Shelby Napiontek, Adrian Clifford and Kevin Herzog.
The OMC Auxiliary holds its wish list ceremony every summer, providing equipment for OMC.
The auxiliary raises funds for OMC through a variety of fundraisers and its gift shop in the hospital lobby.
