PORT ANGELES — A 33-year-old Port Angeles woman died early Sunday morning after she jumped from a moving vehicle on Lower Elwha Road.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as Stacie L. Avila.
An autopsy is pending to confirm the cause and manner of death.
Deputies were dispatched at 4:15 a.m. Sunday to a report of an unresponsive woman lying in the road in the 1000 block of Lower Elwha Road, according to a press release.
The reporting party called 9-1-1 asking for help for his wife, the release stated. Deputies arrived and began CPR but were unable to revive her.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the female jumped from a moving vehicle resulting in her death,” the release stated.
The incident remains under investigation.
