PORT ANGELES — Law enforcement officers are seeking a Port Angeles man with felony state Department of Corrections warrant out for his arrest.
Corey Borden, 24, was last seen along Fey Road just west of Port Angeles at about 1 p.m. after he ditched his car and ran into the nearby woods, Michael Woodhouse, community corrections officer, said Thursday.
Woodhouse said a corrections officer driving along U.S. Highway 101 saw Borden driving the other way, turned around and followed him, knowing Borden had an arrest warrant for failing to report to his corrections officer.
Borden is 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighs 260 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes, said Jeri Boe, community corrections supervisor for Clallam and Jefferson counties.
Woodhouse said Borden was last seen wearing a white sports jersey and jeans.
Woodhouse said anyone who sees Borden should call 9-1-1.
Bordon was sentenced in October 2012 for delivery of oxycodone, court documents say.
Borden’s sighting triggered an organized search of the woods around Fey Road by officers from the Department of Corrections, Port Angeles police, Elwha tribal police and Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies, said Brian Smith, deputy Port Angeles police chief.
It was called off after about an hour, Smith said.
