QUILCENE — An Oak Harbor man who swerved to miss a deer and rolled his vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 near Crocker Lake has been cited for second-degree negligent driving, according to a State Patrol memo.
Shawn M. Lowe, 36, elected to transport himself to a hospital after the 3:15 p.m. Friday crash, the memo said. A passenger, Carla M. Farnell, 54, of Coupeville, also was injured, according to the memo.
Lowe was heading north in a 2007 Chevy Cobalt on Highway 101 when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway, the State Patrol said. His car crossed the centerline into the southbound lane, rotated into the ditch and rolled three times before coming to rest on its top.
He was wearing a seat belt. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said.
