SEQUIM — A pair of novelists will step up to share their work at the Fourth Friday Reading, a free event this Friday evening.

Listeners and fellow writers are invited to the 6:30 p.m. reading featuring local authors John Norgord and Lynnette Baughman at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Road just off Fifth Avenue.

Guests may want to arrive as early as 6 p.m. to purchase a snack or beverage from The Lodge’s Bistro.

Baughman, who lives in Sequim, has published eight novels, from thriller to romance, and won an Eppie Award for Best Contemporary Romance in 2007.

She is experienced in both traditional publishing and in digital self-publishing.

Norgord is a Sequim resident and a mountain climber, with a winter ascent of Mount Olympus to his credit.

He’s working on his first novel, the harrowing journey of an elderly kidnapped woman. Based on real events, the story tracks the effect of crime on victims and families.

Following the featured speakers, there will be an hour of five-minute open mic readings.

Interested writers may submit their names Friday evening before the event begins.

For open mic guidelines, email Fourth Friday Readings coordinator Ruth Marcus at rmarcus@olypen.com.
