North Hood Canal chamber to host meeting Thursday

BRINNON — The North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce will host a Quilcene-Brinnon Connections meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The informal business and community gathering is at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101.

The meeting offers a forum for public sharing, education, conversation and networking as an alternative to social media.

The Connections meetings originally sponsored by the Quilcene Lions Club were attracting 25 to 50 residents, but interest gradually dropped.

“What many who live here in the North Hood Canal area don’t know is just how many discussions at those meetings led to things that actually happened,” said Dan Ventura, president of the chamber.

Some things that can be traced to the meetings include the resurgence of the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce, the start of regular Brinnon Town Hall events, discussion of a Quilcene Skate Park and the start of a new relationship with the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners.

The in-person-only meeting will begin with a structured meeting for the first hour followed by time for socializing and casual conversation.

For more information, call the chamber at 360-765-4999 or email emeraldtowns@gmail.com.
