Nordland man dies of injuries from Nov. 14 wreck

SHINE — A second person involved in a two-car collision on Nov. 14 has died of his injuries, the State Patrol reported.

Wilbur L. Jurden, 83, of Nordland died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the State Patrol said on Monday.

He had been airlifted to Harborview on the day of the wreck.

Judith D. Jurden, 82, of Nordland died at Tacoma General Hospital, the State Patrol reported on Nov. 21.

She was a passenger in the car and originally had been taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, according to the State Patrol.

Wilbur Jurden’s 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was southbound on Paradise Bay Road, which intersects with state Highway 104, at about 2 p.m. Nov. 14 when he attempted to turn left onto Highway 104 from Paradise Bay Road and struck a 2014 GMC pickup truck driven by Alan K. Chan, 58, of Sequim, which was westbound on state Highway 104, the State Patrol memo said.

Chan was treated and discharged from Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend.

The cause of the wreck was listed as failure to yield.

All three people were wearing seatbelts.

Drugs or alcohol were not involved, according to the memo.

Both vehicles were listed as destroyed.
