PORT ANGELES — No action was taken this afternoon after the three Port of Port Angeles commissioners met in executive session to discuss the vacant executive director position — except to schedule a another special meeting for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
“We will continue to consider the total group of applicants with the objective of reducing them down to the finalists,” Port Commission President John Calhoun said.
“At that time, we may take action after the meeting.”
The commissioners are evaluating the resumes and applications of the candidates in closed-door meetings.
The Port has received more than 20 applications for the position vacated by former executive director Bob McChesney.
McChesney tendered his resignation in April after the Port of Edmonds approved a contract with him.
His last day in Port Angeles was May 15.
Until a new director steps in, Port Finance Director Bill James is serving as interim director.
McChesney was making $123,000 when he resigned.
Port of Port Angeles meetings are held at the Port Administration Building, 338 W. First St.
