SEQUIM — The Clallam County Prosecutor’s Office has not charged two men who were arrested for investigation of breaking into the Sequim American Legion post and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and taking beer and money late Friday into early Saturday.
Sequim police arrested Kevin Brown, 18, and Dillon Lukes, 18, both of Sequim, on investigation of second-degree burglary and third-degree theft Monday.
Prosecuting Attorney Deb Kelly said Wednesday that the office is awaiting results of tests on evidence before taking any action on formal charges.
Video footage taken from St. Luke’s Church provided a description of the clothing the men wore, police said. Those descriptions led to the arrests.
Brown and Lukes were released from the Clallam County jail on their own recognizance Tuesday.
Ann Lundwall, the deputy prosecutor handling the case, is out of the office for training this week, office manager Christa Anderson said.
According to the Sequim Police Department, an officer dispatched to the American Legion post at 107 E. Prairie St. early Saturday arrived to find a broken window. Beer and money were missing from the building.
Later that morning, an officer was dispatched to the church at 525 N. Fifth Ave., where surveillance video showed a man breaking a window and entering the church, police said

Their faces are not visible in the very fuzzy still image from the video. They are concealed in the still image by bandanas they wore over their mouths and noses.
The video showed men taking cash from the church, Sequim police said.
