Nine Port Angeles DECA club members qualify for international competition

BELLEVUE — DECA Club students from Port Angeles High School competed in the state DECA competition in Bellevue on Feb. 28.

Nine of the students have qualified to attend the International Career Development Conference from Saturday, April 27, to Tuesday, April 30, in Orlando, Fla.

Skyler Cobb and Cole Wash will be competing in the Business Law and Ethics category; Hayden Woods, Garrett Edwards and Erin Frazier will compete in the school-based Enterprise competition.

Aeverie Politika, Josie Ciaciuch, Emma Murphy and Nacia Bohman will attend a Leadership Academy at the event based on their chapter campaign.

Additionally, Cobb was elected to be Area 7 president for the upcoming year.

The area, which includes the North Olympic Peninsula, Kitsap Peninsula and Tacoma, is one of 11 in the state.

DECA is a leadership development program that prepares high school students to enter the business community.
