PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Garden Club is taking orders for its annual wreath sale.
Undecorated wreaths are available this year for $20; wreaths with a bow are $25.
This is the garden club’s major fundraiser, which supports local high school and community college scholarships and contributions to community organizations
Customers designate their preference of bow color and type of wreath: traditional, whimsy, country, glitzy, Seahawks or a special wreath request.

This year, wreaths will be decorated and delivered the week following Thanksgiving.

Felt board workshops
Felt board workshops will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., and again at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave.
Participants will take home a simple felt board they have made, some patterns and ideas about how to use the board to tell stories or work with a child.
This program is geared toward adults. All materials will be provided.

Newcomers’ lunch
PORT ANGELES — The Newcomers’ Club will hold its December luncheon in the Red Lion Hotel’s second-floor ballroom, 221 N. Lincoln St., on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
Socializing begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by a buffet luncheon and program.
The lunch will consist of pork loin roast with applesauce, mashed potatoes, roasted seasonal vegetable medley and winter green salad with assorted dressings. Dessert will be New York cheesecake with strawberry drizzle.
Wine and soft drink orders will be taken at each table.
The price for this month’s luncheon is $22 (tax and gratuity included), or the program-only fee is $5 and includes coffee and tea.
Instead of the usual speaker, attendees will be entertained by the Port Angeles High School’s select choir, which has performed under the banner of Vocal Unlimited since the mid-1970s.

Students honored
PORT ANGELES — Twenty-eight Stevens Middle School students were selected as Students of the Month for September and were honored at a recent luncheon at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center prepared by the center’s culinary arts students.
The seventh- and eighth-grade students were recognized by their teachers for showing a positive attitude at school.
