PORT TOWNSEND — Kala Point resident Ed Carr will speak Wednesday about his days stationed at Fort Worden in the early 1940s.
Carr, a World War II veteran, will speak at 6 p.m. at Kala Point Clubhouse, 310 Sailview Drive. The event is free and open to the public.
At the age of 22, he became a B-17 pilot in the mid 1940s and was stationed in England. He flew nearly 40 missions.

Convention of States
OLYMPIA — The Washington State Convention of States will host a rally at noon Jan. 18 on the steps of the Capitol building in Olympia.
The rally is to support the Convention of States Project’s call to use Article V of the Constitution to impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress.
Ken Ivory, a member of the Utah House of Representatives, will be a featured speaker at the rally. Ivory was elected president of the Article V convention held in Colonial Williamsburg, Va., in September. He supports states’ rights and the transfer of federal lands in the western states back to the states.
