NEWS BRIEFS: Weekly rally in Sequim set each Sunday … and other items

SEQUIM — On four consecutive Sundays, community members and participants with Indivisible Sequim and MoveOn.org have rallied at the corner of Priest Road and West Washington Street seeking support to reunite migrant children with their families in the U.S.

“We’ll be here until all the kidnapped children are returned to their parents,” said Sally Franz of Indivisible Sequim on Sunday.

Participants encouraged drivers to call their senators and the U.S. Department of Justice to increase efforts to reunite children with their parents separated at the southern U.S. border.

“We’re not going to let this go,” Franz said. “Anyone interested in stopping ‘baby jails’ can join us 12:30 to 2 p.m. each Sunday.”
