PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners may take action after a special executive session today.
The three county commissioners will meet from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Room 150 at the county courthouse at 223 E. Fourth St.
The meeting is in response to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office request for an executive session to discuss two matters of pending litigation.
After the executive session, commissioners will reconvene open session and perhaps take action.
Plea-change hearing reset in murder trial
PORT ANGELES — A change of plea hearing for alleged murderer Gary Carl Borneman was reset Wednesday because Chief Criminal Deputy John Troberg was in trial on another case.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge George L. Wood reset the hearing for 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Borneman, 40, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree kidnapping and five other counts related to the October shooting death of Jerry Howell and kidnapping of Rebecca Messinger.
Trail walk slated
PORT TOWNSEND — A plant and birding walk on the Larry Scott Trail will take place at 10 a.m. Friday.
Meet at the Milo-Curry Trailhead parking lot (a fourth of a mile west of Four Corners Road off Discovery Road).
All are welcome.
The group will experiment with a botany/birding walk by ending with a visit to an overlook of the unnamed lake along Discovery Bay Road to view wintering water birds.
The entire walk will be between 4 and 7 miles, depending on the rate of travel.
Ken Wilson, birding expert, will join the walk.

Aerial tram talk
PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Aerial Tram will present at the Elwha Heritage Training Center, 401 E. First St., at 10 a.m. Saturday.
All are welcome to the free event that will discuss a potential aerial tram from Port Angeles Harbor to Hurricane Ridge.
