Art reception

PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Artists’ League Gallery Artist of the Month show this month will feature league members’ interpretations of the theme “seeing music.”

The reception for the show at Sound Community Bank will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the bank at 9500 Oak Bay Road in Port Ludlow, with beverages and snacks at the gallery next door from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Visitors will be able to meet the artists while perusing their work.

The reception will be followed by an Arts and Crafts Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Bay Club at 120 Spinnaker Place.

The “Seeing Music” art challenge inspired the artists to portray any aspect of music, thus combining music through visual art.

League members have produced pieces ranging from abstract to realistic. Mediums included watercolors, pastels, oils, pottery, acrylics, mixed media, fabric and photography.

The entries were juried during the league’s October meeting, with prizes awarded by the general membership.
