SEQUIM — The Village Heartbeat Studio, Zorina and Terrance Wolf’s music and meditation space at 353 Chickadee Lane, will hold a free open house from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
An introduction to meditation will start at 7 p.m., a basic drumming class will begin at 7:45 p.m., and refreshments and conversation will follow at 8:30 p.m.

Shakespeare excerpts
SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts actors will perform excerpts from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Macbeth” and other Shakespeare works in “An Unusual Evening in Sequim: A Celebration of the Bard” at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Admission is free to the program at OTA, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Karen Hogan, Susan Dwyer, Keith Curtis, Tom Darter, Richard Hendricksen, Carl Honore and his daughter, Christie Honore, are among the performers in this “Unusual Evening,” which will include birthday cake for Shakespeare, who was born April 23 4½ centuries ago.
OTA’s event is part of the Sequim Art Walk, which includes free art shows and music at venues around downtown from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday.
Peninsula College extends deadline for Find Your Voice play scripts
PORT ANGELES — The deadline for submitting a script to Peninsula College’s Find Your Voice New Play Festival has been extended to Tuesday.
The competition is open to anyone in the community, student or nonstudent, who would like to see one of their original plays produced June 6 and 7 in the college’s Little Theater.
Each submission must include, in some shape or form, three distinct items either in the title, the stage directions or the dialogue.
This year’s “items” are space, green and sloth.
Other play submission guidelines include the following:
Plays can be no more than 10 minutes in length.
Submissions must include character names, lines of dialogue, stage directions and page numbers.
Any genre is accepted, from comedy to drama.
Playwright contact information must be included (name, address, phone, email) but not on the script itself to ensure objectivity.

‘Woofstock’ slated
PORT ANGELES — The Capernaum Center for Autism will host its first fundraiser at 1527 E. Front St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
“Woofstock” admission is free and open to the public.
The event will feature face painting, photos with dogs, K-9 demos, freestyle and frisbee demos, a hippie costume contest and dog/owner costume contests.
Games and the bouncy house require varying tickets: one tickets is 50 cents, 12 tickets are $5 and 25 tickets are $10.
There also will be several raffle baskets.
