PORT TOWNSEND — A celebration of sailing history and International Women’s Day is planned at 7 tonight.
Shelly Randall of the Community Boat Project will discuss the historic wooden sloop Felicity Ann and adventurer/writer Ann Davison, the first woman to sail solo across the Atlantic.
Davison describes her feat of sailing the 23-foot boat across the ocean in 1956 in her book, “My Ship Is So Small.”
The Felicity Ann was restored by the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding.
The presentation will be at Carnegie Reading Room at the Port Townsend Public Library at 1220 Lawrence St.
Drink and Draw
PORT ANGELES — Drink and Draw, a free event for all ages, is planned at 7 tonight.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Loom in Studio Bob, upstairs at 118½ E. Front St.
A model will pose for three 20-minute sessions.
Beer, wine and soft drinks are available for purchase.
Drawing supplies are available or bring your own.
Drink and Draw meets each month the Thursday before Port Angeles Art Walk the second weekend of the month.
SmileMobile in PA
PORT ANGELES — Parents can sign up for a visit to the Washington Dental Service Foundation’s SmileMobile.
The SmileMobile, which travels the state offering dental services to children who might not otherwise have access to dental care, will be available from Monday through Friday, March 16.
Staffed with a clinic manager, dentist and dental assistant, the SmileMobile will be parked at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St.
Examinations will be provided to children from birth up through high school age. Treatment appointments will be provided the duration of the stay.
Medicaid coupons are accepted and a sliding scale fee based on income and family size (after taxes) is available, according to a news release.

Scholarships
PORT TOWNSEND — The deadline is Saturday for applications for scholarships from the University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County, the philanthropic affiliate of AAUW Port Townsend.
Finalists for about $50,000 in scholarships will be interviewed in April and awards will be announced in May.

Event center renovation ribbon-cutting
SEQUIM — The pubic is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon March 28 to celebrate the phase two completion of the Guy Cole Event Center kitchen renovation.
The ceremony will include information on the completed kitchen, tours of the facility and information on facility rental.
The ribbon-cutting was originally scheduled for Feb. 28.
