Red Cross classes set on Peninsula
Community Red Cross CPR/first-aid/AED classes for this month are scheduled for the North Olympic Peninsula as follows:
■ Port Townsend, 1925 Blaine St., Suite 106 — 10 a.m. this coming Saturday (June 7).
■ Sequim, 151 Ruth’s Place — 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21.

On June 18 and 19, the Red Cross will offer pet first-aid classes (dog or cat) at Petco, 1205 W. Washington St. in Sequim.
Two classes are scheduled each day at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and include disaster preparedness.

Anglers meet
PORT TOWNSEND — The East Jefferson chapter of Puget Sound Anglers will hold its next meeting in the port commissioners’ office, 333 Benedict St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10.
Norm Reinhardt, president of the Kitsap Poggie Club, one of the oldest recreational fishing clubs in the state, will speak.
Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.
Blessings Circle
AGNEW — A Oneness Blessings Circle will be held at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 70 Howe Road, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Receive “Blessings of Divine Grace” from certified Oneness Blessing givers.
The blessings are not associated with any religious beliefs and are nondenominational. No teachings or dogma is involved.
All are welcome to attend except children younger than 10.
There is no charge for the blessing; however, a volunteer donation will be accepted to help defray the cost of space rental.

Rummage sale
SEQUIM — Selections ranging from tools to jewelry will be offered at the annual rummage sale at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Among other merchandise will be furniture, appliances, clothing, books, plants and specialty dolls.
Proceeds help support the church’s mission programs.

Contemporary work
PORT TOWNSEND — About 75 sixth-graders and their teachers from Blue Heron Middle School will be under the instruction of contemporary artists in creative writing, theatrical movement, music and visual art this week.
A final presentation will be held at the Wheeler Theater, located in Fort Worden State Park, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Tales, Text & Theater, now in its 12th year, is a collaboration between Centrum, the Port Townsend School District, the Washington State Arts Commission and PT Artscape.
“What I love about watching the Blue Heron students as they go through this program is their level of enthusiasm and energy,” said Martha Worthley, Young Artist Project program manager.
“Out of a week of fun-filled activity, students develop a sense of their own possibilities and talents, and gain self-confidence.”
Beginning each day with a core subject, students get an in-depth concentration in a genre of their choice.
Then, they explore by learning about other art forms in their other three classes, seeing how the different arts interconnect.
