PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center will host a community presentation on recognizing the signs of prediabetes on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on the lower level of Olympic Memorial Center, 939 Caroline St.
The event is free and open to the public.
Vicki Everrett, a registered dietitian nutritionist and certified diabetes educator, will explain the risk factors for prediabetes and the importance of lifestyle changes to improve health and reduce the chances of developing the disease.

Annual meeting
PORT ANGELES — Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County will host its annual meeting Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 139 W. Eighth St.
The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet new board members and staff and learn about Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program and a new Maloney Heights build Habitat will begin soon.
Consultant recertified as specialist
PORT ANGELES — Debbie Mangano of We Promote You, a marketing consultancy, recently attended the industry’s Promotional Product Association International Convention (PPAI) in Las Vegas.
At the conference, she completed the requirements for recertification as a Certified Advertising Specialist, according to a news release.
“The expo was a great show, with 3,100 supplier booths and an extensive lineup of education and world-class speakers,” Mangano said.
“In my 11th year of attending the show, I always learn new things that I’m anxious to bring back and apply to my clients’ marketing needs and programs.”
