PORT ANGELES — Blue Mountain Animal Clinic, 2972 Old Olympic Highway, is joining the U.S. Marine Corps in its Toys for Tots campaign.
The shelter will collect donations of new, unwrapped toys; coloring books and markers or crayons; games; and puzzles for distribution to children in need.
Donations will be accepted at the clinic. Those who bring in a donation will be entered into a drawing for a live 5-foot cork-braked fir Christmas tree.
Blue Mountain Animal Clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.
Rotary meetings
PORT ANGELES — The Nor’Wester Rotary Club will not have meetings Friday or Friday,
Dec. 30, due to the upcoming holidays.
The club regularly meets Fridays at 7 a.m. at Season’s Cafe at Olympic Medical Center, 939 Caroline St.
Volunteers needed
PORT TOWNSEND — First Night, a community celebration of art and heritage, is seeking volunteers to help out with the Saturday, Dec. 31 event.
Volunteers will assist with greeting and directing participants, handing out programs and related activities.

Novel conversations
SEQUIM — The Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., will host the first book discussion group, “Novel Conversations,” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.
The group focuses on books that have had importance in readers’ lives, regardless of genre, and the input will help decide the book club’s list for 2017.
Participation in “Novel Conversations” is free and will be held at 4 p.m. every fourth Wednesday of each month.
