PORT ANGELES — City police on Thursday were searching for Severin Haase, who they said fled into a ravine on the east side of Port Angeles.
Haase, who had active felony warrants for his arrest, was last seen running northeast in a creek near the old Lietz Farms building on Front Street toward Ennis Creek
Road, Port Angeles police said.
He was wearing a black hat, sunglasses, gray sweatshirt and blue jeans when he fled at about 3:30 p.m.
Anyone with information on Haase’s whereabouts is asked to phone police dispatch at 360-452-4545.
Equalization board opening
PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners have announced an opening for an alternate position on the Board of Equalization.
The Board of Equalization receives appeals, holds hearings, evaluates evidence and makes determinations of the fair market value of property within the county in cases of disputes between the County Assessor and the property owner.
Members are required to be U.S. citizens and to have lived in the county for at least two years.

New manager for local PT business
PORT TOWNSEND — The Pizza Factory recently announced that Mary Kay Haas will take over management of its Port Townsend location.
According to a press release, Haas has been a Pizza Factory franchise holder and corporate support team member.
The pizzeria at 1102 Water St. is to be renovated as well.
Black awarded
PORT ANGELES — Julie Black recently received Olympic Medical Center’s leadership award.
Black, the director of support services for the center, is responsible for safety, security, emergency preparedness, housekeeping, dietary services, hazardous waste and the center’s volunteer program.
Black also coordinates the center’s annual United Way fund drive.
Unity service scheduled
PORT ANGELES — the Rev. Donna Little will present “Sacred Communion” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Litttle will present the lesson at Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle Ave.
Sunday service begins at 10 a.m.

Ecumenical service
PORT ANGELES — Local churches will join together for an ecumenical prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The public is invited to attend the service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave.
The service will include song, prayer and reading or scripture and a reflection by the Rev. Gail Wheatley of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Donations will be accepted for the Advent diaper drive in support of the First Step Family Support Center.
Annual return of the Festival of Wreaths event
PORT LUDLOW — Jefferson Healthcare Foundation will host its third annual Festival of Wreaths from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.
The festival will take place at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place.
The festival includes a champagne brunch and a silent auction.
The club will be open from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the brunch for local children to visit Santa.
Visits are free and include a printed picture to take home.
Brunch will be prepared by Jefferson Healthcare’s chef Arran Stark.
There will be 50 wreaths, hand-made by local artists, available for purchase in the silent auction.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit Jefferson Healthcare’s family birth center.
