PORT ANGELES — A man was arrested after a brief foot pursuit in Port Angeles on Wednesday, police said.
Devin Michael Richardson, 22, was arrested near the corner of Eighth and A streets for investigation of multiple warrants and obstructing law enforcement officers, Port Angeles Police Chief Brian Smith said.
He remained in the Clallam County jail on Wednesday with no bond set.
Richardson was caught in an alley between Eighth and Ninth streets at about 2:11 p.m.
He was not armed during the pursuit, police said.
Police had no further details on Richardson’s arrest.
Books, libations
PORT ANGELES — Books and Libations will open at Camaraderie Cellars at 6 p.m. today.
The pairing of six wines and books will be at Camaraderie Cellars at 334 Benson Road.
Registration is required. Valid photo ID must be presented at the door.
The 21-and-older event is co-hosted by the North Olympic Library System and Camaraderie Cellars.
At each tasting station, participants will sample one book and one of Camaraderie’s artisanal Northwest wines.
Each book has been paired with each of the wines, with titles ranging from classics to sci-fi to literary fiction, matched in tone and intensity to red, white and rose wines.

Sister City guests
SEQUIM — The city of Sequim and Sequim-Shiso Sister City Association will host five guests from the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington and the Consulate General of Japan-Seattle next Thursday, July 13.
The group will arrive at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., at 11 a.m. to tour the facility and other locations in the city.
Following lunch, they will attend the Sequim-Shiso Sister City Association meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers at the Civic Center.
Guests include Dale Watanabe, executive director of the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington; Tay Yoshitani, former CEO of the Port of Seattle and board chair; Senior Consul Murazawa, Consulate General of Japan; Amanda Suzuki, Consulate General of Japan, Public Outreach and Cultural Affairs Specialist; and Josephine Hoyne, Japan-America Society of the State of Washington, programs and administrative assistant.
The group is meeting with the Sister City Association as part of the planning effort for the Japan-America Grassroots Summit in Seattle, to be held in September 2018. Organizers are expecting more than 100 visitors from Japan for the event.
