SEQUIM — The Sequim City Council is currently seeking applicants for a vacancy on the planning commission.
This is a four-year term expiring in January 2019.
Applicants must be residents of Sequim.
The voluntary commission serves as an advisory body to the city council on land use and zoning issues.
Applications can be picked up or submitted at the city clerk’s office at Sequim City Hall, 152 W. Cedar St.

Memorial bench
PORT TOWNSEND — The public is invited to join Jefferson Healthcare officials and the Board of Directors of Disability Awareness Starts Here (DASH) for the dedication of a memorial bench in honor of Lynn Gressley on Friday, March 3, at 3 p.m.
The ceremony will occur at the new entrance to Jefferson Healthcare, located at 834 Sheridan St.
Gressley was a Port Townsend resident who, as DASH president, led efforts to raise awareness of the need for accessibility in public facilities and businesses.
While a patient at Jefferson Healthcare, Gressley experienced the challenges patients with disabilities face as well as the potential for accessibility improvements at the hospital, according to a news release.
The bench was funded by donations from locals.
