About 520 people in Forks, Quillayute, La Push and surrounding areas were out of power for about 30 minutes Friday.
The Clallam County PUD’s power went out at about 1:20 p.m., and it was restored at about 1:48 p.m., said Michael Howe, PUD spokesman.
A truck striking a power line pole caused the outage, Howe said.
Pet Posse fundraiser
PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Pet Posse, a volunteer-run nonprofit that reunites missing pets with their owners, plans a fundraiser at the Port Angeles Eagles Aerie this coming Saturday.
The fundraiser at the aerie at 2843 E. Myrtle St. will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It will include a flea market, where attendees can purchase goods to benefit the nonprofit.
Pet Posse depends on donations to continue its operation; the organization does not charge pet owners for assistance in searching and finding pets.

New hours
SEQUIM — The Emerald Northwest Grill & Public House, 179 W. Washington St., recently changed its hours of operation.
Dinner service will be available from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and till 8 p.m. Sundays.
Happy hour will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
The hours will be subject to change at an unspecified date sometime in either April or May.

PORT ANGELES — Unity in the Olympics’ 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service speaker will be Karen King.
Her lesson at the church, located at 2917 E. Myrtle St., is titled “Prosperity … Is It Really What We Think It Is?”
According to a news release: “There are hundreds of writers and speakers on prosperity. What have you read? What have you learned? What is still fresh in your mind? How is it working for you?”
At Unity world headquarters in Missouri, King served as a prayer associate in Silent Unity, as a marketing publicist for Unity Books and became a licensed unity teacher.
A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Landing practice
COUPEVILLE — There will be field carrier landing practice operations for aircraft stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island at the outlying field night to late night Monday through Wednesday.
Aircraft carrier-based flight training also will occur at Ault Field on early afternoon, early evening and night to late night Monday through Thursday.
Training will continue morning to early afternoon Friday.

Wine tasting tour
PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend Vineyards’ tasting room will be open to those 21 and older for two Taste & Toast Tours.
This Wednesday and Aug. 30 at 5:30 p.m., attendees can pair a flight of five wines with small food bites in the vineyards’ tasting room, 2640 W. Sims Way.
Tours are limited to 20 people, and the cost is $29 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.porttownsendvineyards.com.
During the tours, wine staff will be on hand to explain how to pair wines with food, as well as share with guests how grapes are grown and how winemaker Ben Thomas processed the grapes to wine.
Attendees will also tour the winery and sample wine from barrels.

1957 class reunion
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles High School Class of 1957 will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a reunion Aug. 18-19.
That Friday, the celebration will be held at the Peninsula Golf Club, 824 S. Lindberg Road, at 5:30 p.m.
That Saturday, the class will meet from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a picnic at a private residence.

Better balance classes
PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Healthcare’s next session of “Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance” will begin Tuesday, Aug. 29.
The program costs $120 and includes 24 classes throughout 12 weeks and is taught by trained and certified instructors in Jefferson’s waterside lobby, 834 Sheridan St.
Beginners can choose from either Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Those with prior class experience can take the advanced class Tuesdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Class size is limited to eight people, and registration is required.

Change of command
SEQUIM — The Sequim Rotary Club convened recently for the installation of incoming Rotary President Bob Hitchcock and his new board of directors.
Outgoing President Ed Ebling received a president’s plaque recognizing his year of leadership, after which he passed the gavel to Hitchcock.
The new Rotary officers are Vicky Blaksley, secretary; Mary Budke, youth services chair; Henry Jones, foundation chair; Rochelle McHugh, membership committee chair; and A.J. Hitchcock, community service chair.
Assistant District Gov. Bill James of Port Townsend swore in all of the officers.
