COUPEVILLE — There will be no field carrier landing practice operations for aircraft stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island at Ault Field today through Sunday.
There also will be no field carrier landing practice operations for aircraft at Outlying Landing Field Coupeville.

Extended hours for Jefferson Public Health
PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Environmental Public Health Division recently announced that its office hours will be extended to include Fridays.
According to a press release, the division’s office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays starting this week.
Staff members will now be available for in-person consultations from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The division’s offices are located at 617 Sheridan St.
The Department of Community Development offices will remain closed to the public Fridays.
Port Angeles quilting group makes quilts for heroes
PORT ANGELES — The volunteer quilting group Quilting for Heroes recently held its inaugural Veterans Day quilting event.
According to a press release, the group created more than 126 quilt blocks, enough to make four complete quilts.
The quilts will be donated to American Hero Quilts on Vashon Island, which sends them to Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, other Warrior Transition Centers as well as to U.S. military hospitals in Kandahar, Bagram and Qatar.
The Port Angeles group has made and sent 53 quilts for distribution to wounded veterans so far this year.
The Veterans Day event was supported by donations from the Missouri Star Quilt Co., the Warm Co., Sleepy Valley Quilt Co. and the Loyal Order of Moose #996.
The group meets to sew at 10:30 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Sleepy Valley Quilt Co., 1017 E. Front St.
