PORT ANGELES — Garden enthusiasts are invited to the Port Angeles Garden Club’s February meeting, which includes a friendship soup luncheon.
The meeting will take place today at First Presbyterian Church, 139 W. Eighth St.
The event starts at 9:30 a.m. with a coffee social, followed by the meeting at 10 a.m., which includes a program on how to make flower arrangements from repurposed, reused and recycled materials, plus a horticulture lesson.
The soup luncheon follows.
The luncheon is free.
Annual membership dues are $25.

Senior nutrition
PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Senior Nutrition Site dinners will be served at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the Port Angeles Senior & Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
A suggested donation is $5 for those who are 60 or older.
People younger than 60 can attend for $8.
Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance to 360-457-8921.
Menus are subject to change.
■ Tuesday: Waldorf salad on a bed of greens, seafood melt, grapes and chocolate pudding.
■ Wednesday: Orange slices, potato soup, chicken Caesar salad, garlic toast and brownie a la mode.
■ Thursday: Cole slaw, pulled pork sandwich, applesauce and cherry cobbler.
■ Friday: Cucumber salad, herb-baked fish, confetti rice, baked squash and bread pudding.
Scarf Project
SEQUIM — A Dropped Stitch yarn shop is spearheading the North Olympic Peninsula’s Special Olympics Scarf Project, according to co-owner Nora Polizzi.
Knitters and crocheters are making scarves, hats, headbands and ear warmers to be presented to athletes at the 2016 Winter Games.
Finished items should be delivered to A Dropped Stitch, 136 S. Second Ave., by Saturday.

Airman graduates
SAN ANTONIO — U.S. Air Force Airman Michael F. McGee recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.
McGee completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
McGee is the son of Dewey McGee of Puyallup and Melissa McGee of Neah Bay, and he is the stepson of Melisa Webster-McGee of Puyallup.
He is a 2015 graduate of Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup.
