PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library Systems board will consider approving resolution 18-05-05 for the establishment of the Sequim Library Capital Facility Area to finance a new library and expand its service when it meets Thursday.
The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
Also on the agenda is approval of revisions to Policy 2.1 collection management and resolution 18-05-06 to authorize closure of unused account.

Road to reopen
OLYMPIA — After weeks of costly repair work, the Bear Gulch Day Use Area, on the 24 Road of the Olympic National Forest, has been reopened for the season.
District Ranger, Yewah Lau, of the Hood Canal Ranger District, announced that the road is rebuilt and the culvert cleared of debris.
The road is once again accessible to visitors and passenger traffic and the recreational facilities of the day use area are being readied for the summer season.
A strong storm with heavy rainfall during the Thanksgiving weekend of 2017 caused the culvert on the road to fill with sand, gravel and rock, according to a forest service news release.
As water continued to flow, the road washed out, trapping two vehicles behind the washout for several days before they could be rescued.
The interim repairs, which cost $70,000, were done by a local contractor and included cleaning out the culvert, rebuilding and stabilizing the road and regraveling the day use area.
The 24 Road leads to the Olympic National Park’s Staircase Ranger District and is a portal to Olympic National Park.
Shooting facility
PORT TOWNSEND — The Commercial Shooting Facility Review Committee will discuss methods for indentifying and mitigating the impact of commercial shooting facilities when it meets today at 1 p.m.
The committee will meet in commissioners chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St.
Living alone workshop set for June 13
PORT ANGELES — Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County will hold a workshop titled “Living Alone Now” on June 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The workshop is free and open to the public. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling 360-452-1511 or emailing vsm@vhocc.org.
The workshop held at Hospice House, 810 S. Albert St., is designed to assist those experiencing a recent transition to preparing meals for one due to loss of a life partner.
During the workshop, Dr. Carolyn DeSalvo and Rosalinda Castiglioni will offer tips for shopping including buying in small quantities, varied and nutritional menus, ready-made options, as well as use and storage of leftovers.
