SEQUIM — A forum aimed at beginning the community conversation on sexual abuse, assault and misconduct, “Keeping Our Kids Safe” is set for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
The forum will be in the Sequim High School Auditorium, 601 N. Sequim Ave. It is hosted by “The Beginning” in partnership with Clallam County, city of Sequim, Olympic Medical Center, the Sequim Gazette and Sequim School District.

GM candidates
PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Public Utility District will discuss candidates for the general manager position at a special meeting at 9 a.m. Friday.
The meeting will be at the Jefferson County Transit board room at 63 Four Corners Road.
Commissioners may select a candidate with whom to enter into contract negotiations. The former general manager, Jim Parker, left in September.
NOLS adds resource
The North Olympic Library System has added Lynda.com to its list of free online resources.
The addition provides library card-holders with free access to thousands of online learning opportunities that would normally cost $20 to $30 per month to access, library officials said.
Lynda.com is an online learning site that hosts a constantly growing library of more than 6,000 courses with more than 130,000 instructional videos.
Courses cover a variety of topics including business, design, web development, multimedia and software skills such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and open source applications. The courses are delivered by expert instructors and feature searchable transcripts that make it easy to find quick answers to questions.
The North Olympic Library System oversees public libraries in Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks and Clallam Bay.

Talk back night
SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts will debut its new tradition “Talk Back Night” at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Theatre cast and crew of “Time Stands Still” will be available to chat with following the 6:30 p.m. production at the theater, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
During the meeting in the theatre’s Gathering Hall, attendees can choose from an assortment of beverages and snacks from the theater’s bar.
Director Josh Sutcliffe, actress Jennifer Horton and actor Ron Graham will be present. Theatre’s executive director and set designer, Carol Willis, also will be available to share insight into the production’s journey, as well as the theater’s overall perspective.
