SEQUIM — A Williamson Road home was the site of a fire that is estimated to have caused $75,000 in damage Monday night.
According to Clallam County Fire District 3, firefighters responded to a single story residential home on fire at 453 Williamson Road at 6:06 p.m.
An offensive attack kept the fire contained to a bathroom, part of the kitchen and one side of the house’s exterior, according to a press release.
There was extensive smoke damage throughout the rest of the home. The occupant — who lost most of their belongings — was not home at the time of the fire.
The next door neighbor reported the fire.
The estimated loss is $50,000 for the home and $25,000 for its contents.
The investigation of the fire’s cause and origin is still ongoing.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, Olympic Ambulance and the Clallam County Public Utility District also assisted at the scene.

Board vacancies
PORT ANGELES — The city of Port Angeles is looking for two residents to serve on the Public Safety Advisory Board.
Applications are due to the city manager’s office by 5 p.m. Dec. 7, according to a press release.
The board provides input to the city manager, chief of police and fire chief on matters of public safety.
Board members meet at 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month in the City Council chambers.
Some of the areas addressed by the board include enhancing relations between police and fire departments and the community; reviewing departmental policies; reviewing qualifications and performance of licensees; and promoting public awareness of police and fire programs.

PA workshop
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School Board will hold a planning workshop Friday and Saturday at the Lincoln Center, 905 W. Ninth St.
Friday’s agenda includes reports on technology, transportation, food service, human resources, special services, and teaching and learning, as well as a presentation on Continuous School Improvement Plans.
Saturday’s agenda includes a budget overview, a presentation on board and superintendent goals, and reports on operations spending, enrollment and district facilities.
The workshop is open to the public, but there will not be an agenda item to hear community comment.
