NEWS BRIEFS: Detours expected along Marine Drive in Port Angeles this Sunday … and other items

PORT ANGELES — Drivers will meet with detours from Marine Drive while city street crews repair pavement from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

“Working on Sunday lessens the impact on area businesses and the traveling public in general,” the city said on its website at www.cityofpa.us.

A detour is planned for westbound traffic on Marine Drive at Valley Street.

Residential traffic will be detoured south onto Valley Street, then west on Second Street before being redirected to Marine Drive.

Commercial traffic is encouraged to use Lincoln Street to access U.S. Highway 101 because the detour intersection is restrictive for large trucks.

Eastbound traffic on Marine Drive will not be affected.
