PORT ANGELES — A meeting of the Convention of States Project is planned at the Port Angeles Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7.
The meeting at the library at 2210 S. Peabody St. will be for Legislative District 24, which covers Clallam and Jefferson counties and part of Grays Harbor County.
The Convention of States Project’s objective is to re-establish limited government, 10th Amendment states’ rights and individual freedom, organizers said.
Eric Minor, Washington state director for the Convention of States Project, will be the speaker.
The public is invited and can ask questions.

College planning
SEQUIM — A college planning seminar is set at the Sequim Library from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Participants will learn how to choose, apply and pay for college at the free seminar at the library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.
Nominations
SEQUIM — The Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce will begin accepting nominates for its Citizen of the Year award Jan. 2.
The honor will recognize members of the community who have dedicated “significant time and energy to the community above and beyond the expectations of their job” in 2016, chamber officials said.
Nominations for the awards are made to the chamber by residents of the Sequim Dungeness-Valley area. Deadline for nominations is Jan. 31. The awards will be presented at a Feb. 23 luncheon.

PORT ANGELES — Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering an eight-week grief support group series from Jan. 17 through March 7.
The group will meet from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday at Hospice House, 810 S. Albert St., directly behind the main office on Eighth Street in Port Angeles.
The program is free and open to the public.
Registration is required as group size is limited.
