PORT ANGELES — All Clallam.net services will be affected starting Friday as the county’s Information Technology (IT) Department conducts a maintenance outage.
Maintenance is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. that day and last until approximately 5 p.m. Saturday.
As work is completed, some services might be restored earlier Saturday.
All services will be available no later than 5 p.m., Clallam IT director Debbie Earley said in a news release.
The outage is to support electrical upgrades to the Clallam County Courthouse, Earley said.
Gun law letters
PORT ANGELES — Washington State Teens for Gun Reform are hosting letter writing at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Port Angeles Library.
The topic of the letter writing at the library at 2210 S. Peabody St., will be gun reform and urging legislators to pass “common sense” gun laws, according to a news release.
The evening will begin with Port Angeles High School senior and activist Emily Menshew giving a speech on the topic of gun reform.
City Councilman Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin and Paula Barnes from the Alliance for Gun Responsibility and the League of Women Voters also will speak.
Paper, postage and pencils will be provided.
The organization also is planning a march starting at Port Angeles High School, set for 2:45 p.m. Friday. The march will end at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Art commission
SEQUIM — The city is currently seeking applicants to serve the remainder of a four-year term on its Arts Advisory Commission.

Applications can be submitted to City Clerk Karen Kuznek-Reese at the civic center or via email at atkkuznek@sequimwa.gov.
The commission serves as an advisory body to the city in connection with cultural and artistic endeavors and projects in the city.
Applicants must be a resident within the Clallam County boundaries of the Sequim School District.
The term for this position expires in December 2021.
Commission members are appointed on the basis of demonstrated interest in, and knowledge and support of the arts.
