PORT ANGELES — The newly formed Happy Explorers Camp Fire Club is looking for members to join.
The club meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Camp Fire Club House, 619 E. Fourth St.
The current age range for the Happy Explorers is 4 to 8 years old.
Camp Fire Club is a national co-ed youth organization serving children pre-school through high school.
Camp Fire introduces children and families to a variety of people, places and experiences within a fun, supportive, club atmosphere.

Garden lectures
PORT TOWNSEND — The 2017 Yard and Garden Lecture Series will begin with a presentation by Mark Turner on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St.
This will be the first presentation of the six-week series that will occur every Saturday morning until Feb. 13.
Turner’s presentation is titled “37 Native Gems for Northwest Gardens” and will feature his photography as he speaks about native plant species that could fit local personal landscapes.
Turner is the owner of Turner Photographics and has been a professional photographer since 1993, specializing in gardens and native plants for books, magazines and commercial clients.
Tickets for the six-lecture series are $50 while $12 single tickets will be available at the door if space is available.

Womxn’s March
PORT TOWNSEND — Debbie Steele, chair for the Fund for Women and Children, is forming a group of people who will join the Seattle Womxn’s March on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. near Judkins Park in Seattle.
A seat on a 51-person passenger bus can be purchased for $35 and carpools are being arranged for transportation to Seattle.
The group will meet at Haines Place Park and Ride, 440 12th St., Port Townsend at 7 a.m. and will depart at 7:15 a.m. for the Kingston-Edmonds ferry.
They will have a banner and be joining approximately 40,000 people in the march.
