PORT TOWNSEND — The Olympic Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society will feature a guest speaker at its meeting this month.
There will be a social time at 6:30 p.m. before the Tuesday presentation held at Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St. at 7 p.m.
Varn Brooks will speak about the ecology of the sagebrush steppe followed by two short presentations updating the chapter’s protection and restoration projects at Kah Tai Lagoon Park and Point Wilson.

Grantmaker’s forum
PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson Community Foundation (JCF) — through the Nonprofit Alliance — will roll out its request for proposals for the annual endowment grant at the JCF Spring Grantmaker’s Forum.
The forum will be held Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1111 Franklin St.
This year, the title of the grant is “Partnering for Resiliency.”
The grant will help fund a community project or program that can be implemented by a partnership between two or more nonprofit organizations.
Dr. Claudia Edmondson, executive director of Camp Beausite, will conduct a workshop titled “Evaluation Is Not a Four Letter Word.”
The purpose of the workshop will be to provide participants with information and examples about the basic tenets of program evaluation that relate to the evaluation of the RFP, according to a news release.

Planning sessions
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District is updating its strategic plan and seeks feedback from staff, students and community members during three meetings this week at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center, located at 905 W. Ninth St.
Facilitated by Mitch Everton, the meetings will be held Tuesday through Thursday — all from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. — for feedback about the future of PASD schools, facilities and programs.
The district advises those interested to register in advance due to limited seating.
