Olympic National Park backcountry travel using horses

The Elwha Barn is located on Whiskey Bend Road off Olympic Hot Springs Road, about 7 miles west of Port Angeles.

The event will feature workshops on packing, trail equipment, leave-no-trace and trail etiquette. Participants are asked not to bring personal stock animals.

All-ages dance set

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Associated Student Government will host senior citizens from all over the North Olympic Peninsula at its 17th annual all-ages dance.

The dance is at the Pirate Union Building at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The event pairs college students and senior citizens for a night of “old-school” dancing.

“This is a great event,” said Rick Ross, director of student programs.

“Most college students have not experienced ballroom, swing, waltz and polka, and this gives them an opportunity to learn from those in our community who enjoy dancing as part of their lifestyle.”

The band Wally’s Boys will perform.

Admission is free.
