PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Community Players are seeking entertainers for a fundraiser for the organization March 18.
“We are looking for musicians, singers, dancers, jugglers, magicians, actors or whatever your act may be,” said Dmitri Gerasimenko, one of the event organizers.
“We want to have a fun evening of showing what the local talent is.”
Acts of no more than 10 minutes each are requested. The group is seeking eight separate entertainers. All acts must audition.
Auditions can be scheduled for the evening of Feb. 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. by calling Dmitri at 612-239-8952 or sending a link to your website, a video-sharing site or CD with a letter of interest and contact information to pacommunityplayers@hotmail.com.
Those auditioning in person should bring everything they need. An accompanist will not be provided.
Flight operations
COUPEVILLE — There will be field carrier landing practice operations for aircraft stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island at the outlying field Monday through Friday.
Operations are scheduled from late morning to evening Monday and Thursday.
Operations will continue late afternoon into evening Tuesday and Wednesday.
Training also will occur morning to afternoon Friday.
The schedule is subject to change to meet mission requirements.

Support group
PORT ANGELES — Community members are invited to participate in a family caregiver support program that recognizes the role unpaid caregivers play in helping older adults and adults with disabilities.
The event will take place Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Park View Villas, 1430 Park View Lane.
“We applaud these unpaid caregivers,” said Nancy McCarty, family caregiver support program coordinator with the Olympic Area Agency on Aging.
“We ask to be allowed to help them practice self-care through utilizing services available through our program.”
McCarty also leads family caregiver support groups in Sequim.
The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
Serenity meeting
PORT ANGELES — The annual board of directors meeting for Serenity House of Clallam County and its subsidiary, Burke Place, will occur Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Serenity House Administrative Building, 2203 W. 18th St.
New board members will be introduced, officers will be elected and the 2016 annual report will be presented.
The meeting is open to the public.
Hors d’oeuvre will be served and service certificates awarded.

Driver safety class
CHIMACUM — A driver safety class will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road.
Those 50 or older may qualify for an insurance discount.
The class is designed to help refresh driving skills and inform drivers of revised laws.
For AARP members, the class is $15; for nonmembers, $20.
The class is limited to 20 participants.

Free dinner
SEQUIM — A free community dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.
The meal includes meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, green salad, dessert and beverages.
Reservations are required and can be made by phoning the church at 360-683-5367 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the dinner or by email to dinnerstumc@aol.com.
The church presents the dinners on the last Thursday of each month.
