Compost will be available for 30 percent off regular price through March 31 at the transfer station, 3501 W. 18th St.

During that time, it can be purchased Mondays through Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sale prices will be:

• $14 per cubic yard for 1 to 3 cubic yards;

• $11.90 per cubic yard for 4-49 yards;

The compost is a mixture of yard waste and biosolids and has been sold at the compost facility since 2007.

Yard waste includes grass, leaves, branches, and other yard debris from residences and commercial activities in Clallam County.

Biosolids come from the treatment of wastewater at the city Wastewater Treatment Plant.

These biosolids are treated and strictly monitored in accordance with regulatory requirements, the city said in a news release.

The city participates in the US Composting Council Seal of Testing Assurance Program and test results are given with each purchase.

Visa, Master Card, Discover and checks are accepted.
