PORT TOWNSEND — A new restaurant is in the works at Hudson Point.
Port of Port Townsend commissioners have called for bids on renovation of the former nurses’ quarters at Hudson Point, taking a step toward spiffing up another of a row of the historic buildings built in the early 1900s as a military installation.
The owners of T’s Restaurant are interested in renovating the interior of the building.
The building proposed for renovation is nearest the shoreline and the Hudson Point Marina’s mouth.
Gary Tocatlian who, along with Nancy Tocatlian, owns T’s Restaurant, said that the new restaurant would be casual, with a comfortable ambiance aimed at those coming off the boats.
A Victorian-style seaport and nautical beach cottage theme was envisioned, he said.
The restaurant would include a bar.
He said the restaurant, as planned, might hold up to 100 seats, including a deck area that would be used seasonally.
The restaurant owners would be responsible for the costs of interior remodeling.
