PORT TOWNSEND — Native American artwork will be featured at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History during the Port Townsend Art Walk from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
Persistent Vision: Northwest Native Art, an exhibition of historic Native American pieces from the Jefferson County Historical Society collection and contemporary work, is on display now through Sept. 5 at the gallery at 540 Water St.
Among the artists with work on display are Joe Ives Sr. and Jimmy Price of the Port Gamble S’Kallam; Marvin Oliver of the Quinault tribe; Isleta Pueblo and Bill Martin Jr. of the Makah tribe; and Cathy MacGregor and Dusty Humphries of the Jamestown S’Klallam tribe.
Earlier in the day will be the monthly Free Day at the Museums for Jefferson County residents.
Residents will be admitted free until 4 p.m. at three museums: the Jefferson Museum of Art History, the Commanding Officer’s Quarters at Fort Worden, and the Rothschild House Museum.
Free Day at the Museums is the first Saturday of every month and is supported by the Port Townsend Arts Commission.
