…LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF WESTERN

WASHINGTON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND SUNDAY NIGHT…

…WINDY CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY AT TIMES…ESPECIALLY ALONG THE COAST

AND IN THE NORTH INTERIOR…

A WARM FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND WILL LIFT

NORTH INTO SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA TONIGHT. RAIN WILL SPREAD INTO

THE AREA AHEAD OF THE FRONT BUT AS THE FRONT MOVES NORTH RAINFALL

RATES WILL TAPER OFF OVER WESTERN WASHINGTON.

THE FRONT WILL RETURN SLOWLY SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE AREA SUNDAY

AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY NIGHT WITH RAIN…HEAVY AT TIMES…

ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ALONG THE COAST.

TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS DURING THE PERIOD FROM LATE SATURDAY

AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING WILL LIKELY BE AROUND 3 TO

6 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS…WITH THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION OVER THE

OLYMPICS AND NORTH CASCADES. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL AVERAGE AROUND 8,000

FEET. RAINFALL OVER THE WESTERN WASHINGTON LOWLANDS WILL BE

LESS…FROM A HALF INCH TO UP TO AS HIGH AS TWO AND A HALF INCHES.

THE HEAVIEST RAIN IN THE LOWLANDS IS EXPECTED ALONG THE NORTH COAST.

DUE TO THE UNUSUALLY DRY ANTECEDENT CONDITIONS…RIVER FLOODING IS

NOT EXPECTED DURING THIS EPISODE. HOWEVER RIVERS WILL RISE SHARPLY.

BREEZY TO LOCALLY WINDY CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY AT TIMES DURING THIS

PERIOD…ESPECIALLY ALONG THE COAST AND IN THE NORTH INTERIOR.

SOME MINOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IS POSSIBLE SUNDAY

AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY NIGHT IF WIND-BLOWN LEAVES ARE ALLOWED TO CLOG

DRAINS AND CAUSE PONDING IN INTERSECTIONS…UNDERPASSES AND

LOW-LYING STREETS.
