PORT TOWNSEND — Mud drags and a beef barbecue are only some of the attractions at Jefferson County Fair on its last day today.
The fair, which started Friday with the theme of “Magic in the Air,” opens at Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 4907 Landes St., Port Townsend, at 10 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. today.
The 29th annual 4X4 mud drags will start at 11 a.m. at the grandstand.
The Port Hadlock Mud Toys 4×4 Club expects about 60 rigs to tear through the mud.
The popular Sunday beef barbecue, which costs $8, will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Barrel racing will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Horse Arena.
The Greatest Kids Show on Dirt is scheduled at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Dog and cat shows are planned, as well as a 4-H drill team presentation, other 4-H exhibits, chicken bingo, floral and vegetable displays, a magician and music.
Gate fees are $6 for adults, $5 for those 65 and older and students from 13 to 17 years old, and $2 for children 6 to 12 years old. Children 5 and younger are admitted free of charge.
