PORT ANGELES — Work crews from the state Department of Transportation will mow and cut overgrown vegetation along U.S. Highway 101 along Lake Crescent from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes and single-lane alternating traffic controlled by a pilot car, WSDOT said.
Work crews will reduce sections of the highway to a single lane to create a work zone for mowing crews as well as for volunteer crews who will pull noxious weeds from along the roadway by hand.
Work will start at milepost 220, near Sol Duc Hot Springs Road, and move east to milepost 225, near Aurora Creek.
Cutting back vegetation helps to improve sight distance along the highway, WSDOT said.
