PORT TOWNSEND — The city’s Mountain View Pool is temporarily closed due to a failed circulation pump motor, Public Works Director Steve King said Tuesday.
The pool, at 1925 Blaine St., had been open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday for lap swimming, family swims, independent water walking and independent deep-water workout sessions by appointment. Reservations can be scheduled up to a week in advance at cityofpt.us/pool.
King said a new pump motor is in transit from California; when it arrives, he will have to run it for a period of time to rebalance the pool chemicals.
The pool should reopen “hopefully early next week,” he said.
To the swimmers who want to use the pool, he added that “we’re as frustrated as they are.”
