PORT LUDLOW — A Port Angeles woman was flown to Harborview Medical Center on Sunday afternoon after her motorcycle rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee on state Highway 104 near the Hood Canal Bridge.
Sabrina Y. Bibb, 47, struck the back of the Cherokee at close to 40 mph after not seeing that it was slowing, according to a Washington State Patrol report.
Bibb was being evaluated in Harborview’s emergency room at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday and her condition wasn’t yet available, according to a nursing supervisor.
The Department of Transportation said via Twitter that lanes were blocked until almost 3 p.m.
Bill Beezley, spokesperson for East Jefferson Fire-Rescue, said Bibb had an open head wound when she was transported.
She was wearing a helmet and has a motorcycle endorsement.
The eastbound wreck was reported at 1:37 p.m. Sunday near milepost 13 on Highway 104, over a mile west of the bridge.
Bibb was cited for following too close.
