CHIMACUM — A 24-year-old motorcycle rider was in serious condition Monday after being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle as a result of colliding with a deer near the entrance to Anderson Lake State Park.
Jordan L. Francher of Chimacum was in serious condition in the intensive care unit Monday, hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg said.
The collision occurred just after 7 p.m. Sunday on Anderson Lake Road, 9 miles south of Port Townsend, according to a State Patrol report.
Francher was traveling west near the 1000 block of Anderson Lake Road when a deer entered the roadway. Francher was injured when his black 2005 Honda CBR600 collided with the deer, according to the State Patrol.
Francher was wearing a helmet and had a motorcycle endorsement. The motorcycle did not sustain reportable damage and was removed by friends, according to the report.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected in the incident, the State Patrol said.
No charges are pending.
