PORT TOWNSEND — An unidentified 60-year old Las Vegas man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition after a motorcycle wreck on state Highway 20 this afternoon.
No one else was involved in the crash, according to Bill Beezley, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue spokesman.
Fire department medics were called to the wreck near Eaglemount Road at about 4:17 p.m. after the eastbound motorcyclist left his lane and hit the cliff wall immediately adjacent to the highway, Beezley said.
A witness told department personnel that the man’s Honda Goldwing motorcycle flipped end over end several times before coming to rest upside down.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash, which closed Highway 20 in both directions for more than two hours.
The man’s name was not released by the fire department for privacy reasons. Hospitals do not provide information about the condition of a patient without a name.
