VICTORIA — Two dozen tall ships will sail into Victoria’s Inner Harbour for the Victoria Tall Ships Society festival Thursday through Sunday, which is expected to attract up to 40,000 people.
The billowing sails and masts stretching to the sky will make for a picturesque view, Bill Eisenhauer, media relations director for the festival, said on Tuesday, during a visit to Port Angeles.
“I always say that it is a harbor made for tall ships,” he said.
The Parade of Sails will begin at noon Thursday.
“The captains put on quite a show, waving at people, and it is quite amazing seeing the 24 or more ships coming into the harbor,” Eisenhauer said.
