SEQUIM — Renae Meyers sat impatiently by her phone Thursday, waiting for any word that would hint at the whereabouts of her husband, Richard.
Calls poured in from concerned friends and family, but none offered an explanation as to why Richard Meyers’ empty fishing boat was found near LaPush the day before.
It was the same phone that rang Aug. 6, delivering the horrible news that Renae’s mother, Lorna Kuhlman, had been killed in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and Mill Road in Carlsborg.
And the same phone over which she learned that her niece, Lisa Pinpin, was injured in a three-car crash at the same intersection exactly a week later.
“It’s just unthinkable,” Renae said of the string of tragedies in an interview Thursday with Peninsula Daily News.
“I’m becoming pretty exhausted.”
