CHIMACUM — A memorial service for the Chimacum School District’s longtime technical director, who died of a stroke Tuesday, is set for 2 p.m. Sunday.

The service for Chris Martin will be in the high school auditorium, 91 West Valley Road.

The purpose of the service is to “try to imagine our world and how Chris changed it,” according to a statement from the family.

Martin, 44, was a 1990 Chimacum High School graduate who had worked at the school since that time, developing the technology structure that helped usher the system into the computer age, according to school Principal Whitney Meissner.

Martin also volunteered at the Port Townsend Film Festival and designed its technology structure, according to Janette Force, the festival’s executive director.

Suggested attire at the service is “Hawaiian shirt, khakis, and sunglasses,” according to Jeff Eichen.

With respect to Martin’s talents, the service is expected to contain a strong audiovisual element.

Organizers are requesting that anyone who has photos, stories or other material to contribute to email owner@redrovergrill.com or javegr@gmail.com.
